The Vision Safe Interlock team won 1st place in the 2026 Intermunicipal Entrepreneurship Competition for Schools in the Aveiro Region, held on June 3 in Albergaria-a-Velha.

The project, developed by students Catarina Cierco, Délcio Zacarias and Saltanat Tileubay, presents an innovative solution for industrial safety: a system that prevents a machine from being activated when safety goggles are not being worn correctly.

The main objectives of Vision Safe Interlock are:

? To create safer working environments;
? To prevent eye injuries and accidents;
? To ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment;
? To strengthen worker protection;
? To develop an automatic, intelligent and user-friendly system.

This achievement represents another important milestone for the Aveiro Professional School, particularly for its Sever do Vouga campus.

The awards ceremony was attended by Paula Coutinho, Councillor of the Municipality of Sever do Vouga, and Dr. Paulo Quina, Director of the Aveiro Professional School, who accompanied and congratulated the students on this excellent result.

The next challenge has already been set: on June 9, the team will represent the region in the regional stage of the competition, which will take place in Caldas da Rainha.
