This Monday, Vougapark hosted the first day of the “Artificial Intelligence Tools for Business” Bootcamp, an initiative that bridges technology and entrepreneurship. The opening session featured two leading voices: Manuel Dias, recently appointed as the first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Portuguese Government, and Luís Gustavo Martins, co-founder of AMPinvest, with extensive experience in research and innovation.
Manuel Dias, whose appointment was made official on October 3, now plays a central role in the digital reform of the Portuguese public administration, leading the newly created Agency for Technological Reform of the State (ARTE) . With a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and a master’s in Information Systems from ISEG, he began his career at EFACEC (1996–2006), where he worked on real-time systems for power grids and led research and development teams . In 2006, he joined OutSystems, taking on product management and international expansion roles until 2011. From 2011 onwards, he embarked on a long career at Microsoft Portugal, serving as Data & AI Specialist, Business Analytics Lead, and later as National Technology Officer and executive board member.
In his talk at Vougapark, he emphasized the importance of aligning technology with collective purpose, stressing that Artificial Intelligence should serve to amplify human capabilities — not replace them.
Luís Gustavo Martins, in addition to his solid academic and professional background in R&D, currently acts as co-founder of AMPinvest, a firm dedicated to investment and innovation. His career includes leadership roles at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, coordination of digital creativity centers, and collaborations with international research institutions. His perspective was key in demonstrating how technology, academia, and the market can converge into practical solutions for entrepreneurs.
Throughout the bootcamp, both trainers presented AI tools and methodologies with direct applications in business: from data analysis and automation to ideation and the prototyping of intelligent products. The learning environment was marked by dynamic interactions, case studies, and reflections on the innovation paths that participants can explore.
The second training day is scheduled for October 21, with trainer Amanda Lopes, who will lead a workshop focused on five key areas:
With this program, the Vougapark Bootcamp reinforces its position as a space for technological immersion — helping entrepreneurs integrate AI into their business strategies and operations with purpose and foresight.
