Vougapark’s Project Manager, Andreia Fonseca, was part of the Portuguese delegation that attended the 18th Iberian Meeting of Science and Technology Parks, held in Évora from October 1 to 3. The event, organised by PACT – Alentejo Science and Technology Park, brought together representatives from parks, incubators, universities and companies from Portugal and Spain under the theme “New Immersive Worlds.”
Prior to the official opening, Andreia Fonseca served as secretary of the board at the General Assembly of TecParques – Portuguese Association of Science and Technology Parks, where the 2026 Activity Plan and Budget were presented. The session stressed the need to streamline procedures, strengthen the sharing of indicators, and increase the visibility of the impact generated by companies linked to national science and technology parks.
Over the course of three days, the programme included sessions on Artificial Intelligence, Web3, digital twins, innovation policies, and pitches from startups and technology parks. The schedule also featured technical visits and cultural activities, fostering valuable networking opportunities.
The closing session was attended by Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT; Nuno Augusto, President of TecParques; Felipe Romera, President of APTE; Cláudia Boesch, Consul General of Portugal in Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla; Teresa Riesgo, Secretary General for Innovation at the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities; Hermínia Vilar, Rector of the University of Évora; and Helena Canhão, Secretary of State for Science and Innovation.
For Andreia Fonseca, the experience was highly significant:
“Taking part in the 18th Iberian Meeting of Science and Technology Parks, hosted by PACT, was an enriching experience. The theme ‘New Immersive Worlds’ opened space for us to reflect on the impact of innovation in areas such as health, industry, art and education. More than lectures, the meeting was a true gathering point between parks, universities and companies from Portugal and Spain, fostering the exchange of experiences, new partnerships and a shared vision of the future. I return with fresh ideas, valuable contacts and the conviction that cooperation is the way forward to accelerate technological and regional development.”
Through this participation, Vougapark reinforces its active role within the Iberian network of science and technology, consolidating international cooperation and bringing new opportunities to the regional innovation ecosystem.
